Fluo took sole ownership of the system that collects membership dues for 1% for the Planet worldwide, transferring it from a long standing supplier with zero downtime and no interruption in production. AI accelerated the knowledge transfer from the incumbent, and Fluo now runs the platform and is shaping the modernisation plan behind it.

A global network of businesses that commit at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental causes, and the organisation that connects that giving to vetted environmental nonprofits worldwide.
1% for the Planet's payment system was the last thing still sitting with a supplier whose wider engagement had come to an end. The system itself worked. What the organisation needed was a partner it could trust to take sole ownership of it, because this is how a worldwide membership base needs to function: it runs across every time zone, day and night, and every minute or hour it is not running is a payment not collected.
Fluo took the system on outright, absorbing years of accumulated knowledge from the incumbent supplier along with the codebase behind it. Fluo's instinct on any engagement is to find the fastest safe route for the client. Rather than working through the inherited code line by line, the team used AI to read the codebase and documentation and map how everything fitted together, turning what is usually a slow knowledge transfer into a fast, confident handover
Fractional CTO judgement paired with hands on delivery. AI is not part of the product here, it is how Fluo does the work, and the result is a partner that came out of the transition with a complete picture of the system rather than a partial one. Fluo is itself a 1% for the Planet member and a certified B Corp, so the values sitting behind the engagement were shared from the outset.
A critical piece of software moved from a supplier of several years to a brand new partner with zero downtime, no interruption in production, and no impact on members anywhere in the world. Fluo now holds a clear picture of how the platform is built and is in a position to advise on the next phase: modernising the payment infrastructure so it costs less to run, strips out the manual work still happening behind the scenes, and lets 1% for the Planet change membership bands and payment methods themselves rather than coming back to Fluo for every adjustment.
